The CNMV’s Vice-Chair chairs the Corporate Reporting Standing Committee (CRSC) and the Sustainability Coordination Committee (SCC) of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The aim of the CRSC is to coordinate the supervision of financial and non-financial information by the competent national authorities. Another of its priorities is for national authorities to supervise how the mandatory publication of this information by listed companies is implemented.
In turn, the CNMV works jointly with the ESMA, EBA and EIOPA Joint Committees to disseminate information on sustainability, the environment and governance.
The CNMV has contributed to the development of the ESMA mandate to the European Commission to carry out relevant sustainable financial reforms concerning social, environmental and governmental responsibility in MiFID II, UCITS and AIFMD. It also collaborates in the reform of the Regulation of Credit Rating Agencies.
The CNMV accompanies the General Secretariat of the Treasury and International Financing of the Ministry of Economy and Business, which participates directly in the Council´s working groups on the European Commission´s legislative initiatives on sustainable finance.
